Energy Independence in Devon | The Thompson Family
A 25-panel rural solar installation achieving 104% energy offset for a newly built Devon home.
Project Overview
Energy Independence in Devon | The Thompson Family
Mike and Sarah Thompson's newly built home in Devon was the perfect candidate for solar energy. With a south-facing roof and high energy consumption, they wanted to take control of their energy costs from day one. Solar Panel Installation Edmonton designed a robust 11.75 kW system that not only met their needs but exceeded them.
Project Background
The Thompsons wanted to gain control over their energy usage in their newly built home. Having just constructed outside of Devon along the North Saskatchewan River, they were looking for a renewable energy solution that would reduce their reliance on the grid and future-proof their energy costs for decades to come.
What Made This Project Unique
Installed at a rural location southwest of Edmonton, this project showcases our ability to serve communities across the greater capital region. The Thompsons' new build provided an ideal installation environment with a clean, modern roof and optimal sun exposure. The 25-panel system generating 12,880 kWh annually covers 104% of the home's electricity needs, with excess energy fed back to the grid.
